A new locally run beer festival is coming to downtown.

The Beer City Brewers Guild announced today that its inaugural HopStock will take place in Grand Rapids on Aug. 13 at Calder Plaza.

The festival will feature breweries, distilleries and cideries that are in Kent County or a city or township bordering Kent County.

Festival-goers will be able to try a variety beers through 3-ounce sample sizes.

The breweries in attendance will also have their IPAs on tap at an IPA Island, sponsored by Coldbreak Brewing Supply, a homebrewing store in Cedar Springs, next to Cedar Springs Brewing Co.

The festival will feature The Concussions, The Legal Immigrants and Dragon Wagon throughout the evening.

Food trucks will also be on hand, including A Moveable Feast, Two Scotts BBQ and Pronto Pops.

Tickets will go on sale this Friday and include $35 advanced tickets and $45 VIP tickets, which include early entrance.

People can buy tickets online.
