Owner sells construction firm
A long-time construction firm in town has been sold.
Grand Rapids-based Omega Construction Co. has been sold to Vic Laing, of Broadwater Companies, according to Rua Associates today. The Zeeland-based mergers and acquisitions firm represented Omega in the deal, with Pankaj Rajadhyaksha acting as the lead advisor.
The price of the acquisition was not disclosed.
Former Omega Construction Co. owner Frank Miceli said he wants to spend more time with his family.
“In Vic, we found a buyer with extensive background in manufacturing and project management,” Miceli said. “Along with our experienced staff, I believe that Vic will be able to grow and develop the business.”
Miceli will stay with the firm during an undisclosed transition period.
Omega Construction Co. is primarily a multi-family residential and assisted living contractor, with projects ranging from $100,000 to $21 million. Founded in 1947, Omega also builds for commercial clients.
Laing said he wanted to acquire a company that helped showcase his skill sets.
“I was impressed with Omega’s history, dedicated staff and its reputation with clients,” Laing said. “I am looking forward to carrying on the tradition of superior construction practices and client service that Omega is known for.”
