Pet supply chain opens next store
A local chain of pet supply stores has opened its next location in the market.
Chow Hound Pet Supplies has opened a store in a 6,000-square-foot leased space in Wyoming, at 5811 Byron Center Ave. The location is the chain’s ninth store.
The space required minimal build out, other than dog-washing stations.
The new location will employ about 10 people.
An official opening sale is scheduled for the July 23-24 weekend, which will also feature discounts at all locations across the metropolitan area.
Visitors to the new store will be able to enter drawings for prizes, such as a six-month supply of pet food and free self-service dog washes.
The company was founded in 1989 by Tyson Keane and Greg Keane, who are Wyoming natives and Rogers High School alumni.
“We’re looking forward to providing a convenient location for our hometown neighbors and friends to purchase premium pet food and products, many of which aren’t available in grocery stores,” Tyson Keane said. “We want to help them take great care of their pets and help make the pet-parent experience a positive one.”
Chow Hound has stores in Grand Rapids, Standale, Jenison, Wyoming, Holland and Grand Haven.
