Salon and spa settles into new space
A salon and spa in the area has settled into a larger space down the street.
Heidi Christine’s Salon & Spa has moved its Ada location from 500 Ada Dr. SE to 7181 Headley St. SE.
The business made the .2-mile move for more room and due to redevelopment work in Ada Village.
The Ada Drive location was demolished to allow Headley Street to eventually connect with the re-directed Thornapple River Drive.
Betsy McConnell co-owns Heidi Christine’s with her sister, Heidi Christine Vanderkolk, and her brother, Cris Elzinga. The business also operates a location in Caledonia.
McConnell said she’s pleased with the move, because the new location is beautiful and more spacious.
The 5,500-square-foot space, which held its official grand opening this spring, was built by Grand Rapids-based Rockford Construction.
“We are so excited to be able to be on the forefront of what is going on in the area,” McConnell said. “At the end of the day, we are just thrilled that we made the decision to invest in building our business in Ada and with this new salon, look forward to being here for many years to come.”
The Ada location of Heidi Christine’s Salon & Spa features a 19-chair women’s salon and a barber-style men’s salon, as well as four private spa rooms, a nail salon, a brow bar, pedicure stations, an area for children and a selection of hair and skincare products.
“While we will continue to offer the same extensive list of services, we feel better positioned for continued growth and able to give our customers a salon experience second to none,” McConnell said. “Being able to design the salon from the ground up has given us the opportunity to analyze our salon’s needs and create an environment that meets both the needs of our customers and our staff.”
