An auto supplier in the region is hosting a job fair next week to fill up to 40 positions in support of its growth.

LG Chem Michigan, Inc., or LGCMI, said yesterday that it will host a job fair on Tuesday at Michigan Works! in Holland, at 121 Clover St.

The job fair will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Open positions primarily include technical operators, starting at $13.50 an hour, as well as maintenance technicians, production engineers and supervisors.

LGCMI will be hosting on-site interviews and making some on-site offers.

The company said applicants should dress in business-casual attire and bring a resume.

The new positions are the result of increased battery demand.

LGCMI makes large lithium-ion polymer batteries for electric vehicle, or EV, and energy storage applications.

The company said its customers include GM, Ford, Renault, Hyundai, Kia, Volvo, Audi and Daimler, among others.

LGCMI employs about 400 workers.

It is a subsidiary of LG Chem, a South Korean company that has global operations focused on petrochemical products, information and electronic materials and energy solutions.

LG Chem is part of the LG Group.
