A car show will roll into a retirement community in the area on Wednesday.

Sunset Retirement Communities and Services will host its third-annual Classic Car Show from 6-8 p.m. at its Rose Garden community in Grandville, at 3391 Prairie St. SW.

“There is a rich nostalgia that comes with interacting with classic cars,” said Sue Wedekind, executive director of the Rose Garden community. “Many of our residents and community members made their living in Michigan’s automobile industry, and the cars symbolize a proud era in American history.”

The free event will feature a variety of vintage cars, including a Ford Motor Co. Model A, 1934 Chevy, 1950 Ford, 1966 Jaguar and 1969 Ford Torino.

People who have vintage cars and are interested in showing them off can still sign up for the show by contacting Andrea Vernon at (616) 457-2770 or avernon at sunsetmanor dot org.

A live DJ will be on hand playing music from the 1950s and 1960s, and a selection of free food will be available.

Attendees will also have the chance to win prizes.
