Safety lighting maker names CFO
A man with years of international business experience is the new CFO and VP of finance at a maker of safety lighting products in the area.
Hudsonville-based SoundOff Signal said last month Jon Coe will replace Tom Roe, who had been with the company since 2007.
SoundOff Signal makes LED lighting and electronic warning products for the emergency vehicle, amber and school bus markets.
Coe will be responsible for mergers and acquisitions, IT, international business and “other critical disciplines,” as SoundOff “expands its business model and portfolio of companies in the future.”
He will oversee the finance, IT, HR and customer service teams.
SoundOff Signal said Coe brings a “diversified background” in finance to the role.
“Jon brings a keen business eye to profitability improvement via both strategy development/implementation and tactical cost savings,” said Mark Litke, president and CEO, SoundOff Signal.
Coe has spent the last 11 years working primarily in an international setting as CFO for businesses with bases in the Netherlands, China, Japan, India, Mexico and Brazil.
His work has mainly been in the chemical industry, but he also has “substantial knowledge” of value chains in telecommunications, auto, electronics, medical devices and bulk pharmaceuticals.
He also recently helped a Detroit nonprofit, focused on revitalizing the urban area, develop business plans that have led to successful funding for the launch of its beta program.
Coe holds an accounting degree from Hope College and an M.B.A. from Grand Valley State University.
