Car retailer hiring for superstore
A national car retailer is hiring for its first location in the West Michigan market — and the state.
CarMax first announced its expansion into Michigan via Kentwood in 2014, and it is now hiring to fill out its staff for the store, at 4431 28th St. SE.
The company expects to hire more than 40 employees for the store, which is scheduled to open in November.
The store will feature about 200 used cars.
CarMax is seeking part- and full-time employees in sales, office and service operations.
Service positions include inventory, advisors and technicians. Most of the positions do not require previous experience, except for technicians, who should have previous automotive experience.
CarMax only accepts applications online.
The company said its employees receive “training and support for associate career growth.”
CarMax has 160 stores in 37 states.
The retailer employs more than 22,000 people nationwide and sold nearly 620,000 used cars in a 12-month period ending in February 2016.
The stores also auctioned nearly 395,000 cars in in-store auctions.
