A new women’s clothing store is opening in a Grand Rapids neighborhood.

Adored Boutique in East Hills, at 968 Cherry St. SE, said it will open today, as well as take part in the Uptown Holiday Shop Hop from 4-10 p.m. today.

Emily Smith, the shop’s owner, signed a five-year lease with Huyck Trust for the 1,200-square-foot space.

“I’m thrilled to have found a location that has great foot traffic and many newer businesses nearby,” she said.

B&V Construction performed the build out of the space, which was previously home to Cheveux Salon.

The shop features contemporary apparel, accessories, shoes and home goods, and Smith has committed 15 percent of her profit to charity partners.

Adored Boutique sources from vendors with products made by people "who are treated and paid ethically and respectfully." The retailer said many of its vendors hire employees rescued from human trafficking.

“Our mission is to enrich lives with every purchase — for those who have been rescued from exploitation around the world and for the women who shop here,” Smith said.
