Buffet chain opens next location
A new buffet restaurant that will employ up to 140 people has opened in the region.
Golden Corral Buffet & Grill said it opened its first Holland location on Friday, at 12420 Felch St.
The 11,097-square-foot restaurant has seating for up to 408 people and a meeting room for large groups that dine at the restaurant.
The chain serves two other locations in the region: Walker and Muskegon.
Home-style buffet items such as pot roast, fried chicken, meatloaf, mashed potatoes and steamed vegetables are available, as well as Italian and Mexican items.
Sirloin steak is grilled to order, carved and served daily at dinner. For both lunch and dinner, a variety of tender, slow-cooked, smoked meats — including brisket, pork ribs, carved turkey, chicken and pulled pork — are served daily.
The restaurant's Lighthouse Seafood Bay buffet features “signature” seafood dishes.
Customers can also build their own salads from the “market-fresh” salad bar.
The bakery buffet features a variety of cakes, pies and homemade breads, including warm yeast rolls.
The dessert buffet features freshly spun cotton candy, hand-dipped ice cream and a “chocolate wonderfall,” which is a “chocolate fountain” for dipping fruits and desserts.
Golden Corral also offers a sunrise breakfast buffet on Saturdays and Sundays from 7:30-11 a.m. It features made-from-scratch omelets, along with items such as scrambled eggs, bacon, hash browns, pancakes, waffles, French toast, fruit, orange juice, donuts and biscuits.
Nadine Hassan, restaurateur and GM, is the owner of the new Holland Golden Corral. Craig Cody, culinary manager, and Barbara Thompson, hospitality manager, are assisting Hassan with the restaurant’s daily operations.
Hassan said she’s “happy” to bring a Golden Corral restaurant to Holland.
“We look forward to treating our friends and neighbors to a wide variety of top quality, home-style foods,” she said.
Golden Corral Corp. is headquartered in Raleigh, North Carolina.
It was founded in 1973. Today, the chain has 480 restaurants across 40 states.
