Car dealer makes acquisition
A West Michigan car dealer is expanding its reach.
Betten-Baker acquired Grand Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram in Lowell, at 930 W. Main St., from Harvey Koning last week.
Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
The dealership sells about 800 new and used cars annually through its 18,000-square-foot building and 3.3-acre lot.
Betten-Baker is retaining the dealship's staff.
Koning acquired the dealership in 2006 and was looking for the right opportunity to retire after a 46-year career.
“We are thrilled to be able to step in and continue to provide exceptional service to the local customers and community,” said Chris Baker, who co-owns Betten-Baker with Bryan Betten.
Based in Muskegon, Betten-Baker Chevrolet Cadillac GMC is celebrating 34 years this March.
Betten-Baker also operates Honda and Hyundai dealerships in Muskegon, as well as a Chevrolet Buick dealership in Coopersville and a pre-owned dealership in Twin Lake.
