Realtor takes reins at real estate firm
A residential real estate firm in the area is under new ownership.
Keller Williams Rivertown in Grandville, at 4301 Canal Ave. SW, will host a ribbon-cutting event on Jan. 26 with new Owner Karla Huitsing.
Huitsing takes over ownership from Karol Cooley.
“Karla Huitsing has shown incredible leadership, passion and direction in building KWRivertown as a home for outstanding agents,” Cooley said. “She will carry the baton well.”
Gene Szpeinski has also been named managing broker at Keller Williams Rivertown.
Keller Williams Rivertown has more than 75 agents and associate brokers.
For nearly a decade, Huitsing owned and operated Towne Square Real Estate in Jenison.
She joined Keller Williams Rivertown as an associate broker in January 2016.
She’s a past president of the Grand Rapids Association of Realtors, which also named her Realtor of the Year in 2012.
A realtor since 1976, Szpeinski was the 2015 Michigan Association of Realtors president and director of the association from 2008 to 2015.
He was also the director of the Commercial Board of Realtors from 2012 to 2014 and named the organization’s Realtor of the Year in 2014.
He was named Grand Rapids Association of Realtors Realtor of the Year in 2016 and 2001.
Szpeinski is also the president of Midwest Appraisal Management Group.
