Jazz restaurant shares plans
A new jazz venue and restaurant could be on its way to a Grand Rapids neighborhood.
A proposed “casual restaurant” with jazz, rhythm and blues at 2130 Plainfield Ave. NE will head to the Grand Rapids Planning Commission on Feb. 9 for a special land-use permit for the sale and consumption of alcoholic beverages, as well as live entertainment and outdoor seating.
The restaurant is expected to serve small plates and entrees and feature live music.
It would seat 50 customers inside and 30 customers in an outdoor area.
The application speculates 20 jobs would be created by the restaurant.
The second floor of the restaurant building would also include three roughly 400-square-foot apartments.
Lisa Gavranovic, director of business development at CDKI Holdings, is the applicant for the restaurant.
