Yum! Brands CEO joins manufacturer's board
A manufacturer in the region has named the head of a global restaurant company to its board of directors.
Benton Harbor-based Whirlpool Corporation, an appliance maker, said yesterday it appointed Greg Creed, chief executive officer of Yum! Brands, to the board, effective immediately.
Louisville, Kentucky-based Yum! consists of three brands, Taco Bell, KFC and Pizza Hut, and serves more than 43,500 restaurants in more than 135 countries and territories.
Jeff Fettig, chairman and CEO of Whirlpool Corporation, said Creed’s “exceptional leadership skills” and “depth of experience” make him an “outstanding addition” to Whirlpool’s board.
Creed has served as CEO of Yum! since January 2015.
He leads the company's overarching strategies, structure, people development and culture.
He was elected to the Yum! board in November 2014 and has been with the company since 1994, serving in various roles, including COO.
He’s also served as CEO of Taco Bell and held positions with Unilever in Australia, London and New York earlier in his career.
He holds a business degree from the Queensland University of Technology in Brisbane, Australia.
