28th Street sports bar schedules opening
A new sports bar is planning to make some green on its grand-opening weekend.
The Blue Moose Sports Pub in Cascade Township, at 6250 28th St. SE, is celebrating its grand opening on March 17, otherwise recognized as St. Patrick’s Day.
The timing also coincides with the first weekend of the NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament, another big weekend for business.
“Our goal is to provide our guests with a fun and relaxing atmosphere, where people can enjoy great, freshly made food and watch the game,” said Robert Aldridge, co-owner, The Blue Moose. “We are overwhelmed by the amazing support we have received from local residents since we announced our lease last fall. We’re looking forward to being part of the Cascade community.”
Aldridge also owns the Ada Pour House in Ada.
The Blue Moose held its soft opening in the 6,734-square-foot space, formerly the site of Cascade Sports Bar & Grill, on Feb. 24.
Colliers West Michigan retail advisors Chris Prins and Mark Ansara assisted the Blue Moose in leasing the space in the Cascade Center, representing both sides in the transaction.
“The owners did an outstanding job at updating the space,” Prins said.

The owners significantly renovated the space in Cascade Center to prepare for the new restaurant, adding garage doors to a new facade and completely renovating the kitchen and installing a new bar.
The sports bar features 40 draft beers, more than 100 types of liquor and a wine selection.
The food menu features bar-type fare, like the Blue Moose Burger, pizza and hand-battered fried chicken.
The Blue Moose also houses pool, shuffleboard, keno and arcade games and can accommodate up to 300 guests.
