Southern restaurant preps for opening
A Grand Rapids suburb is getting a new restaurant with a focus on Southern cuisine.
Carolina Lowcountry Kitchen plans to open this month in East Grand Rapids’ Gaslight Village, at 2213 Wealthy St. SE.
The restaurant is currently under construction.
The dinner-only restaurant will feature Southern-style coastal fare, stemming from the Georgia and Carolina coasts and known as low-country cuisine.
It will offer a fresh oyster bar, shrimp and grits, gumbo, buttermilk fried chicken and more.
The menu will be prepared “almost entirely” from scratch daily.
There will also be a full bar and an extensive drink menu, including wine.
The restaurant is currently hiring staff.
