Restaurant company aiming for 400 locations
A local restaurant company is planning to grow its portfolio to 400 locations.
At its annual meeting yesterday, Grand Rapids-based Meritage Hospitality Group announced its plan to grow from 193 to 400 restaurants over the next five years.
The company announced plans last May to grow from 164 to 285 restaurants over a five-year period.
Meritage Hospitality Group said it plans to accomplish its updated five-year operations and financial goals through a combination of “continued acquisitions, new restaurant development and renovations.”
The company has 57 acquisitions pending in four Mid-Atlantic states, scheduled to close this week.
Meritage Hospitality Group operates restaurants in Florida, Georgia, Michigan, North Carolina, South Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma and Virginia.
It has about 6,000 employees.
Its brands include Wendy’s, Twisted Rooster, Crooked Goose, Freighters Eatery & Taproom and Wheelhouse.
