Insurance agency moving to West Side
A local insurance agency is moving into a 15,000-square-foot building on the West Side.
Compass Insurance Agency said today it will celebrate its new office in Grand Rapids, at 280 Ann St. NW, with an open house on June 15.
The insurer’s growth since its founding in 2009 necessitated a move from its 5,000-square-foot space in Grand Rapids, at 525 Ottawa Ave. NW, Compass CEO Jack Hoedeman said.
“Now that we have outgrown our current space, this move represents the tipping point of Compass,” Hoedeman said.
Hoedeman added that the building will give the agency "the ability to attract and retain the best talent" to continue its growth.
Compass has 26 employees and plans to triple that number with the move into a larger space.
Hoedeman purchased the building, formerly the home of B-93.7 FM, from Clear Channel Media and will lease the remaining space to office tenants.
The two-story building is undergoing a renovation that will be unveiled at Compass’ open house.
The new space has a staffed lobby area, conference rooms, break rooms, an outdoor picnic area and on-site parking.
At its open house, Compass said it will make a $1,000 donation to the Grand Rapids Area Chamber of Commerce Foundation.
