Chamber completes building renovation
A chamber of commerce in the region has renovated its building.
The Michigan West Coast Chamber of Commerce said last week it completed the extensive renovation of its office in Holland, at 272 E. 8th St.
The $750,000 project was funded by chamber reserves and supported by donations from sponsors and chamber members.
The chamber said the project was completed on time and on budget.
“The chamber is extremely grateful for the contributions of our sponsors and member firms,” said Jane Clark, president, Michigan West Coast Chamber of Commerce. “We could not have completed this large renovation without such generous community support and partnership.”
The chamber is welcoming guests to see the renovated space at an open house tomorrow from 4-6 p.m.
GMB Architecture + Engineering designed the interior to include a modernized office space, an atrium with a coffee bar and a learning lab with modern technology.
The building facade was also renovated with the addition of a new front patio and landscaping changes.
Holland-based Lakewood Construction completed the build out.
“What’s special about this renovation is that it was member-focused from conceptualization to completion,” said Doug Vos, board chair, Michigan West Coast Chamber of Commerce. “Member businesses pooled resources in order to provide a welcoming space to accommodate the needs of existing and potential members alike.”
The Zeeland branch of the Michigan West Coast Chamber has also undergone a transformation, moving its office to a new location, at 47 W. Main Ave.
The new Zeeland office features a conference room that's open to chamber members and can be reserved through the chamber’s website.
