A group of community leaders will be honored for their achievements at a networking event for women.

The Grand Rapids Art Museum, or GRAM, said yesterday it will recognize seven women who are new to positions of leadership at its annual invitation-only WomenConnect event.

It will be held at the museum, at 101 Monroe Center NW, from 5:30-7:30 p.m. on June 28.

GRAM said WomenConnect is meant to present “West Michigan as a region that values diversity within the leadership of its businesses and organizations, while providing an opportunity for networking with other women in a relaxed, artful setting designed to spur conversation.”

WomenConnect 2017, the fifth-annual event, is a partnership between GRAM, Grand Rapids Opportunities for Women, or GROW, and the law firm Varnum.

It is designed to welcome and introduce new female executives to other female community and business leaders.

To request an invitation, contact Sara Markman at smarkman at artmuseumgr dot org or (616) 831-2908.
