Two stores are expanding their footprints at a local mall.

Lush and J. Jill are growing at Woodland Mall in Grand Rapids, at 3195 28th St. SE, which announced a $100-million redevelopment plan earlier this year.

Lush, a handmade cosmetics retailer, will expand its presence to 2,402 square feet as it moves into a space once occupied by Premier by Dead Sea. Lush will stay in its 944-square-foot space until the new space is ready later this year.

J. Jill, a women’s clothing store, will open an expanded 3,871 location in the former Brookstone space this month. J. Jill’s current 3,000-square-foot space has remained open during construction on the new space.

Premier by Dead Sea has operated as a kiosk recently, but it will move to the former Track n’ Trail store near Macy’s.

Brookstone moved to the JCPenney wing of the mall.

In April, Apple opened its expanded store in Woodland Mall, doubling its size to 8,000 square feet. The company first opened the store in 2005.

$100M project

Woodland Mall’s $100-million redevelopment will include a new 90,000-square-foot Von Maur in the former Sears space. The project will also include multiple additions to the retail and casual restaurant portfolio of the mall.

Woodland Mall Marketing Director Lyndsey Hicks told the Business Journal previously the mall will likely add a junior anchor, 10 to 15 retailers and five to six restaurants as part of the redevelopment.
