College hires CFO
A local college has named a new controller and chief financial officer.
Carl Zylstra, interim president of Grand Rapids-based Kuyper College, said last week the private Christian school hired Christine Mulka for the position.
“We’re delighted to have Christine to lead Kuyper’s financial office,” Zylstra said. “We launched an extensive search to ensure the individual we selected would be experienced and knowledgeable, but just as important, whose philosophy matched Kuyper’s. Christine is that person.”
In addition to overseeing the financial office, Mulka will also be responsible for the college’s IT and human resources departments.
Mulka said she’s excited to be a part of Kuyper.
“This is the season for which my life experiences have equipped me,” she said. “I am looking forward to witnessing what God has in store for the college in the near future.”
Before coming to Kuyper, for the past 30 years, Mulka has served in several finance executive positions, most recently as senior consultant at ProNexus, VP of finance at the Grand Rapids Symphony and controller and human resources manager for Calvin Theological Seminary.
Mulka holds a B.A. in accounting and business administration from Aquinas College.
Founded in 1939, Kuyper College is focused on training students to “make a difference in God’s world.”
The school offers bachelor’s and associate’s degrees in a variety of professional and ministry fields.
