TV station appoints GM
A local branch of Sinclair Broadcast Group has a new general manager.
The broadcast company said last month that Fred Corbus has been promoted to general manager of the CBS affiliate WWMT TV in Kalamazoo.
He replaced Jim Lutton, who served as general manager for 10 years, before retiring on July 14.
“I am honored and excited to help build upon the station’s tremendous momentum created during Jim's tenure,” Corbus said. “It is a privilege to work with such a talented and dedicated team of people.”
Most recently, Corbus worked as director of sales at WWMT TV since 2015.
Previously, he served as director of sales at WXYZ TV (ABC) in Detroit and director of sales at WOOD TV (NBC) in Grand Rapids.
He began his career at WWMT TV as an account executive in sales and was later promoted to national sales manager and local sales manager.
Corbus holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Western Michigan University.
