Grand Rapids is considered the 16th-best housing market in the country, according to a new report.

The personal finance website WalletHub conducted an analysis of the “best real estate markets” in the U.S., and Grand Rapids ranks 16th out of 300 cities in the overall national ranking and fourth among mid-size cities, or cities with populations between 150,000 to 300,000.

WalletHub compared 300 cities across 21 metrics. Each metric was graded on a 100-point scale, with 100 representing the healthiest housing markets.

Among those metrics, Grand Rapids ranks 82nd in the percentage of homes with negative equity, 73rd in average days until sale, 30th in job-growth rate, 20th in foreclosure rate, 64th in percentage of delinquent mortgage holders and 38th in home price as a percentage of income.

The ranking used data from the U.S. Census Bureau, Bureau of Labor Statistics, Council For Community and Economic Research, Zillow, TransUnion, Chmura Economic and Analytics and Renwood RealtyTrac.
