Perrigo has pledged to send aid for Hurricane Harvey victims.

The Perrigo Company Charitable Foundation is giving $15,000 to the American Red Cross to support relief efforts in the wake of Hurricane Harvey.

The company will also donate more than 500,000 servings of infant food and formula, 25,000 nutritional drinks, 10,000 glucose tablets, 75,000 bottles of adult and children’s pain reliever and other human and pet health products. Donations will be distributed through International Aid.

“Our entire company has been touched by the distressing images and stories from those impacted by Hurricane Harvey,” said Tom Farrington, EVP and chief information officer for Perrigo and president of the Perrigo Company Charitable Foundation. “Our employees quickly approached us, asking for ways to help, and we are pleased to provide assistance to the people who are affected by this historic storm.”

The Perrigo Company Charitable Foundation was established in 2000 and provides financial support to nonprofits dedicated to enhancing the health, well-being and education of communities that Perrigo serves. The foundation distributes more than $2 million annually through grants and scholarships.

Founded in 1887 in Allegan as a packager for home remedies, Perrigo has grown into a global manufacturer of over-the-counter and prescription health care products.

The company sells its products in North America, Europe and Australia.
