Electrical firms planning merger
A pair of local electrical firms are planning to merge.
Grand Rapids-based Boven DeKock Electric and Grand Rapids-based Ada Electric will merge their firms' resources with the goal of expanding their customer bases and better serving existing customers.
The deal is expected to close by the end of 2017.
Both firms have historically served commercial, industrial and residential clients in the southwest Michigan market.
The owners of the firms will stay on board after the merger.
“Culturally, there couldn’t be a better fit,” said Brad DeKock, owner, Boven DeKock Electric.
Boven DeKock Electric was founded over 11 years ago by Dean Boven and Brand DeKock. DeKock bought out his partner in 2014 to become the sole owner of the company.
Ada Electric was founded by Mike Price and Tom Van Tol in 1990. The partners share a combined 60 years of experience in the building trades.
