Food maker rolls out stuffed-bread line
A local frozen food maker has created a line of stuffed-bread products.
Grand Rapids-based Cole’s Quality Foods today released a frozen food snack line called Middles.
The bread treats — patterned after the soft middle section of popular bakery staples, including bagels, Italian breads and pretzel breads — are stuffed with cheese centers.
The heat-and-serve snacks can be heated in a microwave in about one minute or in a conventional oven in seven to nine minutes.
“We are bakers at our core but food innovators at heart,” said Bruce Kratt, president, Cole’s Quality Foods.
Middles are available in the freezer sections at grocery, club, supermarket and convenience stores nationwide for a suggested retail price of $3.99 per 10.8-ounce box. Each box contains eight servings.
Six varieties are available: plain bread stuffed with five cheeses; plain bread stuffed with mac and cheese; plain bread stuffed with plain cream cheese; French toast bagel stuffed with sweet cream cheese; everything bagel stuffed with plain cream cheese; and pretzel bread stuffed with beer cheese.
Founded in 1943, Cole’s Quality Foods produces frozen baked goods and claims to have invented frozen garlic bread in 1972.
The family owned company makes a variety of frozen bread, toast and breadstick lines that are sold at food retailers across the U.S.
