Downtown hosting Lean In leadership conference

A local women’s professional organization is producing a leadership conference downtown this month.

The conference by Lean In Michigan will feature a keynote speech by Grand Rapids Mayor Rosalynn Bliss, the first female to hold the position.

The conference will be from 12:30-5 p.m. on Oct. 28 in the Loosemore Auditorium at the Grand Valley State University Richard M. DeVos Center, at 401 West Fulton.

Following the keynote speech, attendees will choose three of the 10 breakout sessions led by the following women and men:

Lorraine Medici of Express Employment Professionals
Claire Lee of Spectrum Health
Lisa Baber of Meijer
Barb Meconis of Holistic Care Approach
Shelley Crooks of Palladian West

Anne Ellermets of Area Agency on Aging
Lisa Misenhimer of Rethinking Dementia
Bill Golder and Susan Golder of Slingshot Growth Partners

There will be snacks and refreshments, with a happy hour at 5 p.m.

Free parking is available in the DeVos parking lot on Winter Avenue NW.

Lean In Michigan is a chapter of the national nonprofit Lean In, a network of women that offer professional support to each other.
