Restaurant chain partnering on Tip-A-Griffin fundraiser
Griffins hockey players will be at several Italian restaurants this week — but they won’t be eating.
Instead, the team will be trading in their jerseys for aprons at Uccello's Ristorante locations on Wednesday between 6-8 p.m. for the 11th edition of the Tip-A-Griffin fundraiser.
Griffins players, coaches and staff will be serving tables during the fundraising window.
“It is a fun way to meet the players and to help out the Griffins Youth Foundation,” said Jake Engel, corporate sales account manager, Grand Rapids Griffins.
The fundraiser will feature raffle items, such as Griffins memorabilia, ticket packages and various gifts from sponsors. Griffins personnel will also auction off their signed aprons.
The Griffins Youth Foundation promotes academic excellence, community involvement and a healthy lifestyle for youth in West Michigan. The foundation also enhances the lives of young people through hockey and ice-related sports.
