Snack food maker rolling out breakfast line
A local company that makes nutritious gluten-free snacks is introducing a new breakfast line.
Grand Rapids-based The Gluten Free Bar, or GFB, said this week it is launching its Gluten Free Power Breakfast line, an instant oatmeal available in five flavors: coconut cashew; fruits, nuts and seeds; peanut butter and jelly; apple cinnamon; and maple raisin.
Each package features high-protein oatmeal with no added sugar and a mix of add-ins, including sun-ripened fruit, nuts and seeds.
GFB said the packaging is part of what differentiates the line from other oatmeal. The breakfast can be ready in 90 seconds by removing the top of the package and then filling the package with hot water. The package folds flat for portability and pops open to create a bowl that can be microwaved and recycled when finished.
“We are stepping outside of the box with this packaging, and we think this brings some sorely needed innovation to the oatmeal category,” said Elliott Rader, co-founder and partner, The Gluten Free Bar.
“Power Breakfast is easy to make at the office, at home or out in the wilderness while camping. We like to say Power Breakfast is like oatmeal — but better. Better ingredients, better taste and all in a portable and convenient package.”
Each Power Breakfast is non-GMO Project certified, certified vegan, soy-free, dairy-free and certified gluten-free.
The Power Breakfast line is available at natural health food stores nationwide, with a suggested retail price of $2.49 per 2-ounce package.
Established in 2010, The Gluten Free Bar is a certified Benefit Corporation that sells its snacks in the U.S. and Europe.
Along with its Gluten Free Power Breakfast line, the company also produces its original product, The Gluten Free Bar, as well as Gluten Free Bites.
