Senior living community opens wellness clinic
A senior living community in the area has opened a new wellness clinic.
Sunset Retirement Communities and Services said this month it opened the Sunset Wellness Clinic at Sunset Manor & Villages in Jenison, at 725 Baldwin St.
The clinic provides free and low-cost wellness services to more than 430 seniors who live at Sunset Manor & Villages’ assisted- and independent-living spaces.
Sue Hamm, the community’s executive director, said the clinic’s ability to help seniors be proactive about prevention is a top priority.
“Many independent residents have small medical issues that become big issues if they do not get them addressed,” Hamm said. “Other residents simply have medical questions that do not get answered in a timely manner, because they are unable to make it to their primary care physician.”
A $50 monthly membership gives residents unlimited visits to the Sunset Wellness Clinic.
Based in Jenison, Sunset Retirement Communities and Services is a Christian nonprofit that provides living facilities and other services to seniors.
