Tech company creating 75 jobs
A tech company plans to create 75 jobs as it expands its footprint in town.
Service Express, Inc., or SEI, an IT services and support company, plans to fill the new jobs over the next three years to accommodate its forecasted “aggressive growth,” according to The Right Place yesterday.
The company is investing $3.1 million to build out a 40,000-square-foot space at Bridge Pointe Office Park in Grand Rapids, at 3855 Sparks Dr. SE, and update its current 75,000-square-foot headquarters in Kentwood, at 3854 Broadmoor Ave. SE, which includes expanding training facilities.
“The key to our success is truly hiring the right people," said Ron Alvesteffer, president and CEO, SEI. "With the right Michigan tech talent, we can count on that support for the continued growth and success of our customers, our employees and our company.”
The Michigan Economic Development Corporation, or MEDC, has approved a $450,000 Michigan Business Development Program performance-based grant for SEI's expansion.
The Right Place, a Grand Rapids-based economic development agency, has offered to assist SEI in finding candidates for the newly created positions.
SEI, founded in 1993, is a third-party IT maintenance provider, specializing in server, storage and networking equipment at data centers.
The company has 40 locations and employs 175 people locally and more than 400 worldwide.
