Airplane parts supplier signs deal with UK airline
A West Michigan supplier of airplane parts has signed an agreement with an airline that serves Europe.
Muskegon-based AeroVision International said last month it signed a comprehensive five-year parts-per-hour deal in support of BMI Regional’s fleet of 20 Embraer ERJ 135 and 145 aircrafts.
BMI Regional, based in Castle Donington, England, will have access to the on-site consignment inventory throughout AeroVision’s network, as well as material located at its Heathrow Airport site in London and in warehouses at its headquarters.
“AeroVision has provided BMI Regional a custom-made component support offering that will allow us to better service our customers in a cost-effective manner,” said Martin Whittaker, chief operations officer, BMI Regional. “This partnership will help underpin BMI Regional’s long-term growth plans.”
AeroVision International supplies business and regional commuter airplane engines and engine parts in support of operators and maintenance, repair and operations facilities around the world.
The company also sells and leases airplanes.
BMI Regional operates an all-jet fleet comprising of 20 Embraer 135 and 145 aircrafts.
Each week, the airline schedules more than 400 flights across a network of 42 destinations in 11 European countries and employs more than 400 staff.
The airline also flies on a contract basis for other carriers.
