Medical firm hires COO
A local medical practice management company has named its new chief operating officer.
Grand Rapids-based Great Lakes Management Services Organization, or Great Lakes MSO, said last month it hired Surya Desiraju for the role.
He mostly recently served as SVP of the free-standing ER division at the Lewisville, Texas-based health care organization Adeptus Health.
He brings more than 20 years of operational leadership and process improvement experience.
“Surya’s proven track record of partnering with physicians to improve patient experience and clinical quality, in conjunction with rapidly growing an organization, makes him an inestimable addition to our team,” said Bill Hughson, CEO, Great Lakes MSO.
“For four consecutive years, the efforts he led were awarded the Guardian of Excellence Award by Press Ganey for achieving patient satisfaction scores in the top one percentile across all emergency rooms in the nation.”
Desiraju graduated in 1995 with a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from the Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani in Rajasthan, India.
He earned a master’s degree in industrial engineering from Wayne State University in 1999 and an M.B.A. from the University of Texas at Austin Red McCombs School of Business in 2008.
