Logistics supplier opens customer service center
A local logistics supplier has opened a new customer service center in the region.
Grand Rapids-based Dematic, a maker of logistics equipment and software, said this week it opened a Monitoring and Response Center at its engineering facility in Holland, at 11818 James St.
The new center will focus on customer service for mobile automation installations, primarily automated guided vehicle systems, formerly supported by Egemin Automation. Egemin will fully integrate into Dematic by the end of the year.
The center will complement the one at Dematic’s Grand Rapids headquarters, where the company's customer service department supports conveyor and sorting-based solutions.
Dematic Monitoring and Response Centers offer around-the-clock technical customer support.
There are six customer service employees at the new Holland center.
Paul Berna, Dematic technical support manager for customer service, oversees both centers in Grand Rapids and Holland.
"By relying on Dematic to help monitor and maintain their infrastructure, our customers can stay focused on their core business of warehousing and distribution management," Berna said.
