Commercial realtors name annual award winners
A commercial real estate organization has honored the top professionals of the past year at its annual awards ceremony.
The 15th-annual Awards Reception by the Grand Rapids-based Commercial Alliance of Realtors, or CAR, was recently held at the CityFlatsHotel ballroom in downtown Grand Rapids.
The organization said nearly 140 commercial real estate pros and affiliates attended the dinner and award ceremony.
Tom DeBoer, SVP of Colliers International West Michigan, was awarded Realtor of the Year for brokering, by CAR’s knowledge, the largest office sale and leases transactions in 2017.
DeBoer has been a realtor for more than 26 years and participated in CAR at the committee and board levels, serving in leadership roles for each.
The second-annual Lifetime Achievement Award was given to Ray Kisor, owner of RJK Investments.
Kisor has served as past president of CAR and been a part of the organization for more than 40 years.
The honor of Project of the Year was given to Kirk Driesenga, regional director of leasing for Hinman, for his work involving the long-term lease of 80,000 square feet in the former Klingman’s Furniture building, at 1001 28th St. SE, to California-based Advantage Solutions.
David Clark, a land consultant and certified appraiser with Nederveld, was given the Affiliate Service Achievement Award for serving on two CAR committees.
Max Grover, VP of real estate at Grover Real Estate, was given the Realtor Active in Politics Award for actively attending political events on behalf of CAR.
