Barbecue chain opens restaurant
A new barbecue restaurant has opened in the area.
Grand Rapids native Joan Dahl recently became a franchisee of Dickey’s Barbecue Pit, along with her husband, Karl Dahl.
Their location, which opened yesterday, is in Rockford, at 380 E Division St. NE, and will offer four weeks of specials and giveaways.
"After spending years in the restaurant franchising world, we decided it was time to expand and found a home in Dickey's," Joan Dahl said. "The first date Karl and I had was at a Dickey's in Wisconsin. The food and the company were so great, we knew Dickey's would be the perfect franchise to make our own."
The Dahls previously owned a Little Caesar’s franchise in Grand Rapids for 13 years.
"We are excited to have the Dahls as a part of our family and look forward to the success they will have in the town they call home,” said Laura Rea Dickey, CEO, Dickey’s Barbecue Pit.
Dickey’s Barbecue Pit was founded in 1941 by Travis Dickey.
The business has since expanded to 550 locations in 44 states.
Dickey’s landed in the first position in Fast Casual’s 2016 list of the “Top 100 Movers and Shakers,” and the chain ranks in the list’s top 10 for 2017.
