Auto supplier hiring 198 workers
A global automotive supplier is hosting a job fair on Saturday to fill positions at its plant in the region.
Kariya, Japan-based DENSO — which has its North American headquarters in Southfield — plans to hire 75 permanent and 123 temporary employees at a job fair from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at DENSO Manufacturing Michigan, Inc., or DMMI.
The plant at 1 DENSO Road in Battle Creek is the company’s lead production facility for DENSO’s thermal systems business and makes automotive air conditioning and engine cooling components and systems.
Jobs and pay range
A representative for DENSO said the open roles are in production and skilled trades, including final assembly positions, lead operators, electricians and machine repair technicians.
Production wages will range between $14 and $18 per hour based on position. The skilled trades hourly wages go up to $31.89 per hour.
The company said it offers “low-cost” benefit packages that start on employees’ date of hire, as well as vacation time and tuition assistance.
Managers and recruiters will be on-site to interview candidates, who are asked to bring their resumes and meet in the DMMI visitor lobby.
DMMI will offer plant tours at the event, so attendees are encouraged to wear casual, comfortable attire and walking shoes.
If applicants register in advance by calling (269) 565-1555 or visiting densocareers.com, they will be eligible to receive a same-day job offer following interviews.
The first 50 registrants will be entered into a drawing for a $50 gift card.
