UICA opening 'Color of the Year' exhibit
The Urban Institute for Contemporary Arts is opening an exhibition next week dedicated to one color.
The “Color of the Year Presented by Pantone and X-Rite” — based on Pantone 18-3838 Ultra Violet — will feature artwork of 20 artists, designers and manufacturers that use ultra violet purple.
The “Color of the Year” exhibit will be open to the public beginning on April 6, when an opening reception will kick off the summer-long display of artwork at UICA, at 2 Fulton W, between 5:30-9 p.m.
There will be music by DJ Romy Glazer, a cash bar and light bites from Reserve Wine and Food. Guests will also get the opportunity to mingle with the artists.
Throughout the summer, there will be a variety of events. For instance, the exhibit will also include “The Art of Tibetan Hand-Knotted Rug Making,” a presentation by Jennifer Kirchgessner, creative director for Scott Group.
