Manufacturer partners with engineering firm
A local maker of intelligent machines has signed a partnership with an engineering services provider for the automotive industry.
Ada-based Burke Porter Group, or BPG, said this month it signed a strategic consulting partnership with Auburn Hills-based WinterPark Engineering.
Together, BPG and WinterPark will aim to provide “cost-effective” emission and diagnostic services to their common automotive customers worldwide.
“Through our strategic partnership with WinterPark, we can go beyond identifying the problems for our customers to helping them come up with the solutions,” said David DeBoer, CEO, BPG.
“Emissions testing is more complex than ever, with regulations constantly changing.”
Mark Frank, CEO of WinterPark, said the arrangement combines BPG’s “history of vehicle knowledge” with WinterPark’s “expertise in creating solutions for emissions challenges” to better serve automotive customers.
WinterPark’s relationships with regulatory agencies will help “ensure BPG’s vehicle testing systems continue to meet global regulatory standards.”
BPG’s “direct knowledge” and “industry-recognized vehicle test systems” will provide WinterPark the opportunity to approach new customers in the automotive space.
With more than 75 years of combined automotive industry experience, BPG and WinterPark have completed projects for various automotive companies, including Fiat Chrysler, Nissan and Hyundai.
BPG and WinterPark said they expect to “periodically evaluate and refine their relationship” as BPG’s business evolves.
