Corporate foundation gives grant to hospital
A hospital in the area has received a grant from a corporate foundation for a mobile vascular ultrasound machine.
The new machine at Allegan General Hospital is already in use and allows the hospital to offer ultrasounds without requiring patients to travel to the hospital.
The portable ultrasound system is used to easily diagnose and treat venous reflex, congestive heart failure and numerous other complicated diseases.
The Perrigo Company Charitable Foundation gave the hospital a $27,445 grant for the machine.
“Perrigo is proud to partner with Allegan General Hospital to further its mission of providing quality health care to Allegan and the surrounding communities,” said Tom Farrington, Perrigo Company Charitable Foundation President.
Since 2009, the Perrigo foundation has donated more than $1 million to Allegan General Hospital.
"Perrigo has been an outstanding partner to this hospital, better enabling us to grow and improve the services we offer our patients," said Jerry Barbini, Allegan General Hospital president and CEO. "Their extraordinary generosity through the years has benefitted the entire community by helping us provide high-quality care right here in Allegan."
