TV station hires director of sales
A local TV station has a new sales leader.
FOX 17 WXMI, Tribune Broadcasting’s FOX affiliate in Grand Rapids, said yesterday it hired Chris Legg as director of sales. He will begin on July 16.
Legg is filling the position vacated by Stephanie Gonda, who chose to pursue a career in local radio, according to FOX 17 General Manager Kimberly Krause.
Krause said Legg will oversee the sales team, and he will be responsible for the station’s advertising revenue, including broadcast TV and digital.
“I worked with Chris for years, so I know exactly who we’re getting,” Krause said. “He’s a well-respected, seasoned sales professional with a long record of success. He’s the perfect addition to our station’s leadership team, and I couldn’t be happier to be working with him again.”
Legg said he's “ecstatic" about joining the station.
"I have been extremely impressed with their consistent growth and success in becoming a leading destination for news and information in West Michigan,” Legg said. “I am excited to lead the FOX 17 sales department in providing customized integrated marketing campaigns designed to help local businesses grow and thrive.”
Previously, Legg served as the director of sales for over one year at WZZM 13, the ABC affiliate in Grand Rapids, after spending over 13 years as the local sales manager at WZZM.
He was also an account executive at WZZM from 1998 to 2003.
He graduated from Hope College in 1997 with a bachelor’s degree in business administration.
