Coppercraft Distillery re-releasing straight rye whiskey
After a two-year hiatus, Holland-based Coppercraft Distillery is re-releasing a straight rye whiskey with a launch party tomorrow night.
The new limited-edition recipe will be available at retailers, bars and restaurants throughout Michigan.
Coppercraft General Manager Brandon Joldersma said the release of a new straight rye whiskey was part of an effort to build on the success of Coppercraft’s Rye Malt Whiskey, which won bronze at the 2015 American Craft Spirits Awards.
Coppercraft’s Straight Rye Whiskey is comprised of 95 percent rye and five percent barley and is bottled at 90 proof.
Marked by a “smooth finish” and “a hint of sweetness,” the distillery says it is perfect for mixing a Manhattan, Sazarac or other cocktail.
To celebrate the re-release, the company will host a launch party at the distillery, at 184 120th Ave., on Tuesday from 6-8 p.m.
Guests will be able to sample the new product and purchase bottles before it hits store shelves.
The event will also feature rye cocktails made for the evening and complimentary appetizers.
