West Michigan bank among 'most innovative'
A local bank has landed on a list of community banks with the most innovative strategies.
Sparta-based ChoiceOne Bank was selected as one of the nation’s “Most Innovative Community Banks” from research conducted by the Independent Community Bankers of America (ICBA).
Twenty community banks were chosen throughout the country for their innovation in the areas of technology, products, branch design, services, management philosophy and problem-solving.
“We are very excited to stand out as one of the most innovative community banks in the country, and the only bank selected in Michigan,” said ChoiceOne Bank COO Adom Greenland.
ChoiceOne was cited in particular for its “healthy relationships” with fintech partners such as Detroit-based Autobooks — developer of the integrated payments and accounting platform ChoiceOne offers its small-business customers — and HT Mobile Apps, developer of mobile savings and rewards tool Plinqit that interfaces with ChoiceOne checking accounts.
ChoiceOne said it was the first bank in the country to offer Plinqit to customers.
