A family-owned chain of department stores is planning its second location in West Michigan.

Blain’s Farm & Fleet is coming to Holland Township in the fall of 2019.

The 106,000-square-foot store will be located on the southeast corner of US-31 and Quincy Street.

“I am very enthusiastic about our new Michigan stores,” said Jane Blain Gilbertson, CEO, Blain’s Farm & Fleet. “As we have been working within these communities, we have had an opportunity to really get to know people from the area, and each one has become a new, fast friend. Holland has been very welcoming — it already feels like home!”

The Holland store will join Blain’s other Michigan locations: in Portage, opening Oct. 19; in Jackson, opening Sept. 5; and in Traverse City, opening in spring 2019.

Farm & Fleet Holland plans to hire more than 100 people: store associates; automotive service professionals; warehouse and stocking crews; and management. The store will be hiring in the summer to begin training new employees.

The company is still hiring for positions at the Portage store, and a hiring fair will take place tomorrow at the Radisson Plaza Hotel in Kalamazoo.

Founded in 1955 and based in Janesville, Wisconsin, Blain’s Farm & Fleet deals in a variety of apparel, outdoor, athletic, automotive and rural products from a variety of brands: Carhartt, Dickies, Under Armour, Troy-Bilt, Husqvarna, Pennzoil, Valvoline and more.

The chain currently operates 38 stores in Wisconsin, Illinois and Iowa.
