An evangelistic festival backed by hundreds of churches in the region is coming to downtown Grand Rapids this weekend.

CityFest West Michigan will be held on Sept. 8-9 at Ah-Nab-Awen Park.

The non-denominational Christian event is free and open to the public.

Led by evangelists Luis Palau and Andrew Palau, the festival lineup will feature several musicians, such as TobyMac, Mandisa, Danny Gokey, LeCrae and Mac Powell.

Other entertainers will include athletes and “Bob” and “Larry” from the “VeggieTales” television and movie series.

“We are delighted to feature such well-loved artists at CityFest this fall,” said Doug DeVos, co-chair, CityFest West Michigan. “Between the festival activities and the music performances, we hope to create a welcoming space for our neighbors to come and hear the Good News.”

More than 370 local churches helped produce the event alongside the Luis Palau Association.
