Association hosting HR workshop downtown

A local workshop meant to share human resources best practices with small business and nonprofit leaders is taking place downtown this week.

The Association for Human Resource Management, a local subsidiary of the Society for Human Resource Management, is hosting the half-day workshop this Thursday from 7:30 a.m. to noon at the GVSU Eberhard Center in Grand Rapids, at 301 Fulton St. W.

The event is a collaboration between the association, the GVSU Johnson Center for Philanthropy and the Grand Rapids Chamber.

A $30 fee covers a 20-minute keynote speech, followed by three consecutive 45-minute breakout sessions presented by several local HR leaders.

The panel will feature several pros: Tiffany Taft, firm administrator, Baker Holtz; Jill Quillen, HR manager, Grand River Aseptic Manufacturing; Anathea Collar, HR business partner, Mercy Health St. Mary’s; and Jim Alton, president, Acrisure Benefits Group.
