A bottler and distributor of soft drinks is shutting down a facility in West Michigan.

Great Lakes Coca-Cola Bottling will permanently close its facility at 216 Peekstock Rd. in Kalamazoo, according to a notice by the company filed with the Michigan Workforce Development Agency.

The closure, effective Nov. 5, will affect about 102 positions, including sales reps, administrative assistants, warehouse workers, merchandisers and equipment services technicians.

The International Brotherhood of Teamsters’ Local #7 union represents 69 of the possibly affected positions.

Great Lakes Coca-Cola Bottling bottles and distributes Coca-Cola products throughout the Midwest.

The company operates multiple facilities in Illinois, Michigan, Minnesota, Indiana and Wisconsin.
