Physical therapy company opens suburban clinic

A new physical therapy clinic has opened in a Grand Rapids suburb.

Oak Brook, Illinois-based Athletico Physical Therapy, a national chain, said it opened a new location last month in Grandville, at 3819 Rivertown Pkwy.

The 2,117-square-foot renovated space contains offices, a private treatment room and a treatment and exercise area.

An Athletico spokesperson said the company sees Grandville as a “great location with increased growth and great community connectedness,” with an opportunity to increase access to services for those with musculoskeletal injuries, in particular.

Services offered at the clinic include physical therapy, work injury rehab, vestibular rehab and functional movement screenings.  

The clinic offers free 30-minute assessments.

It accepts all major health insurance plans.

Athletico Grandville employs a physical therapist and manager, Jodie Blake, and an office coordinator.

“Being in a position to empower people to achieve their goals is something I take very seriously and is why I got into this field in the first place,” Blake said. “I also enjoy fitness and love getting to know my patients and their stories.”

The company did not disclose the to cost set up the location or the firms involved with the move-in project.

Athletico has 425 locations in 11 states and employs more than 4,500 people. 

The company has five locations in the Grand Rapids area.
