A group of West Michigan hospitals have been rated as “high-performing” nationally for numerous specialties and procedures and ranked among the "best" in the state.

The U.S. News & World Report released its 2018-19 “Best Hospitals” national rankings and ratings in five main categories: 20 best hospitals, 10 best children’s hospitals, adult specialties, children’s specialties and adult procedures.

The adult specialties category ranks the top 50 hospitals nationally in 16 areas, noting high-performance ratings for hospitals not in the top 50.

The adult procedures category notes performance levels in nine areas.

The children’s specialties category, released earlier this year, ranks the top 50 children’s hospitals nationally in 10 areas.

None of Michigan’s hospitals are ranked among the best overall in the nation.
